100 years of Poland regaining independence celebrations
12.30pm - 4.30pm exhibition „Fathers of Independence”
"Fathers of Independence" presents six leaders of the fight for Poland in 1918: Józef Piłsudski, Roman Dmowski, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Wincenty Witos, Wojciech Korfanty and Ignacy Daszyński. It portrays over two-meter high silhouettes of the politicians with their biographical entries in Polish and English. It also contains a calendar of events concerning the most important stages of the Polish struggle for independence.
1pm-3pm film „Stones for the Rampart” with eng. subtitles.
The boys are confronted with an impossible choice: they can keep the peace, stay safe and accept the German invasion of their precious homeland, or they can risk everything by heroically engaging in the struggle for honour and liberty of their nation. What followed is a story that has remained legendary for more than 70 years...

H. Decutowski was a silence-unseen officer, trained by Special Operations Executive, dropped over Poland in 1943. He commanded a Home Army unit in Lubline district. His biggest skirmish took place on May 24, near the village of Kreznica Okragla, where Dekutowski's unit attacked a German column, consisting of sixteen trucks filled with soldiers and SS. The Germans lost some 50 men and a lot of equipment. During the second occupation of Poland, Dekutowski decided to continue hiding and fight the Communists.
